Akhilesh Singh has over a decade of experience in microfinance sector. After an Advance Diploma in Rural Technology Development and Management he has gained extensive experience in field level operations in microfinance, particularly at Cashpor. His experience has been in the areas of microfinance operations, micro insurance, strategic business planning, fund mobilisation and training. He has worked in some of the poorest parts of the country and has first hand experience in piloting microfinance programmes for very poor communities.
His areas of interest include assisting start up microfinance institutions, strategic business planning, individual lending, product development, and microinsurance. In addition to working to develop small and emerging MFIs in hard to reach areas, Akhilesh has contributed extensively to the development of the MicroSave toolkits on individual lending for credit officers and individual lending for credit managers and the MFI Out Of A Box for JLG-based MFIs. Akhilesh has been instrumental in assisting Filipino MFIs improve their delivery systems through extensive process mapping activities.
