Certified Service Providers

Each year MicroSave Certified Service Providers (CSPs) train individuals around the world in the MicroSave toolkits, and provide follow-up consulting in the issues relevant to the toolkit. Once certified, CSPs can train others and recommend them to MicroSave for certification. MicroSave tries to advertise as many of the formal retail courses as possible on its website, but by contacting a CSP in your region you can find out if they will be willing to train you or your institution.

In response to the overwhelming demand for its toolkits, and as part of its support to the microfinance industry, MicroSave has trained and certified dozens of trainers from Africa (East, South and West), Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America in its toolkits. In this section of the website, MicroSave has provided the profiles of the trainers who have been certified. This facility allows the user to search for MicroSave Certified Service Providers (CSPs) by toolkit, name, region and language.

Becoming Certified

To become a MicroSave CSP an individual must participate in a full training in the toolkit, both classroom and follow-up field work where they actually use the tool with two microfinance institutions. They must then apply what they learned on their own with a financial institution and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for training and consulting in that toolkit to be considered for certification by MicroSave's technical team.

While the process for certification is stringent, MicroSave cannot guarantee that all the certified service providers  will perform at the same level. To help you better evaluate the skills of our CSPs, MicroSave has developed  a rating system based on  feedback from institutions that have used the services of the consultant and by maintaining  database of the recent assignments accomplished for in the toolkit.

When a consultant gets certified the status will remain as "active" for a year. If the consultant continues to use the toolkit frequently (atleast twice a year) and MicroSave gets good feedback from the users, the status would be upgraded to "Recommended". "Other" denotes that the person is certified, but we have not received the information in the past 12 months.

MicroSave encourages you to contact CSPs with a profile you are looking for and ask them to train your staff and to work with you as you take the tools into the field.
